Military Social Work- Reflection Paper

Students will submit a reflective paper summarizing your learning from this course that may influence your future practices as a social worker.  

The assignment should use formal writing. The paper should include evidence related to the course objectives, specific examples from the course materials and reflect on what you gained in the course that you can apply to future practice.   

Students will need to address the following areas:   

Identify three specific areas discussed in class that were particularly important for you and discuss how each will influence your practice as a social worker. Provide examples of these areas and specific experiences, readings, or discussions to support your analysis. 

What is the emotional impact of these experiences, issues, and topics (e.g., countertransference, relating personally or professionally to the topic on an emotional level). 

Why is it important to know about military culture? Why is this an important topic to be aware of for future social work practice? 

Discuss what new insights you gained from this course as well as what areas you are more aware of after learning the materials. How will the new insights and awareness impact your future practice as a social worker?   

What is an area that you want to learn more about and what will you do to strengthen your skills?
