To complete this assignment,
answer the questions in an MS Word document, reflecting on the three questions
below. Do not just write one or two sentences. Self-reflect on learning and
thoroughly and thoughtfully answer the questions.
1. What was your overall
experience like in the class?
(I had a positive experience
in Psychological Assessment.)
2. Which class activities or
assignments help you learn the most?
(Discussion Boards, Mini-Mental State Examination Practice, and Student
Learning Outcome Project. With the discussion boards, we discussed learning
materials with other students. With the Mini-Mental
State Examination Practice, we were able to apply what we were learning. With
the Student Learning Outcome Project, we were able to share what we learned in
a creative way.)
3. Are there other activities
you believe would have helped you learn? If so, explain.
(It would have been helpful to
have more projects and role-plays.)
4. Did you meet your learning
goals?
(Student Learning Outcomes:
1.Explain the purpose of psychological assessment in mental health settings;
2.Describe the types and uses of psychological tests commonly administered in mental health settings;
3.Demonstrate an understanding of the DSM-V and its role in diagnosing mental health issues;
4.Suggest appropriate treatment interventions and describe the importance of treatment plan monitoring; and
5.Understand and apply the appropriate and ethical uses of psychological assessment and testing in mental health settings.)
1.I had a positive experience with psychological
assessment. I learned a lot about the principles and practices of psychological
assessment through the course materials. The discussion board was also a great
place to gain my classmates’ perspectives on the matters under discussion and
interact with them. I was also appreciative of the feedback I received on my
posts. Overall, the unit showed me new perspectives and ways of thinking about
various issues, enriching my experience.
