Aims

The aim of the assignment is to test your ability to:

Check psychometric qualities of given scales/measures (Run factor analysis and compute Cronbach alpha).

Develop associative and comparative research hypotheses (develop at least three hypotheses).

Choose appropriate statistical test(s) for your developed research hypotheses

Tabulate data analysis results in a professional manner (Tip: check academic articles and follow them).

Interpret statistical data analysis results.

Conclude whether (or not) your developed hypotheses are accepted/supported.

Come up with managerial and theoretical implications based on your data analysis results.

Identify, propose, and justify for follow-up research.

You need to structure your assignment according to the general and specific requirements outlined on the following pages and discuss all the points that are required.

The number and variety of very good research proposals are endless. A very good data analysis report reflects your understanding of hypotheses development, measurement levels, hypotheses testing, choice, application and interpretation of appropriate statistical technique(s).

In addition to the specific requirements, the assessment grid provides extra information on the assignment.

General requirements

It is essential that you follow the specific requirements for this assignment (see next page). First of all, you will be given:

a list of measurement/question scales for a number of constructs/variables in a given questionnaire.

SPSS dataset that contains collected responses for these variables.

Your assignment needs to be structured into the following sections:

Cover page (use the cover page provided on SurreyLearn)

Title page

Table of contents

Psychometric qualities of measurement scales

Hypotheses development and testing

Text Box: 6.	Discussion and implications
7.	Suggestions for a follow-up study
8.	References
9.	Appendices

Make sure that you answer all of the questions outlined under “Specific Requirements” for each of the core sections and structure your assignment accordingly. Your grade will be determined accordingly (have a look at the attached assessment grid).

Use the textbooks, the lecture slides and the seminar exercises as guidance for your answers.

Wide reading and comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter which goes beyond the course material and lectures.

Full and perceptive awareness of issues, demonstrating an appreciation of all major points and a clear grasp of their wider significance. Clear evidence of independent thought and ability to defend a position logically and convincingly. At the higher end, can make linkages between theoretical issues and empirical application and demonstrates some

originality and flair.

Merit ‘Very good’

58

55

Fair range of reading and reasonable knowledge of course material.

The presentation is a good response to the question. It demonstrates some grasp of theory and its relation to empirical data but less awareness of issues and their wider significance. It is largely accurate but may contain more than minor errors such as incorrect facts or errors of omission. There may be some attempts at serious arguments, but this is not fully developed. The presentation is correct but lacks originality and

clarity of thought for an aboveaverage grade.

Good effort to organize the material and argument. Adequate English with reasonable referencing and bibliography. Adequate observation of the word/time limit.

Expert Solution

Factor analysis and scale reliability testing are two important components used in the evaluation of measuring scales. These procedures are essential for comprehending the psychometric characteristics of these scales, providing information on both their underlying structure and degree of reliability. Data Analysis report involves showcasing proficiency in analyzing data, including testing and formulating research hypotheses, assessing psychometric qualities, employing appropriate statistical techniques, deriving managerial and theoretical implications, and interpreting results, which help demonstrate a holistic understanding of research and identify quality results.
