Self-Evaluation Speech

My performance from Tabakam (2022) was average, considering that it was my first time speaking in English. However, the speech could have been more impressive, and I would like to prepare more for the presentation. I prepared for the speech by writing it down and reading it aloud as my friend listened to me. I tried to memorize the speech and cram it for exact reproduction during the presentation. I wrote the speech greatly until I successfully wrote the correct grammar based on my evaluation. The first time I wrote a sketch of the issues I wanted to present. The second write-up was combining sketches to form sentences. I wrote the third and final copy when correcting grammar mistakes to produce a well-organized presentation. I only rehearsed once without reading the write-up, reproducing the crammed speech.

My perceived verbal delivery tone could have been better and stayed consistent based on the nature of every message. The facial expression did not match the verbal message and thus was ineffectively integrated into the speech. I maintained eye contact with my audience when delivering the speech. My posture perceived a lack of confidence, and there was minimal gesturing application. I lacked enthusiasm when presenting the speech because I needed clarification of the speech content. I needed to prepare for the speech both in verbal and non-verbal aspects.

I did not face any obstacles regarding the setting, and the video and audio were effective during the preparation and presentation. I felt nervous when delivering the speech to my classmates, and I was afraid I could forget some parts of the memorized speech and thus felt nervous. A lack of confidence in myself during the presentation contributed to my nervousness. The strengths of the introductory presentation include; audibility, clear video, and calmness in presentation.
