In Project 3, you created a relatively detailed proposal laying out your purpose, objectives, and plan for Project 4. For this discussion board, I'd like us to take the basic instrumental goal of Project 3—persuading someone that your research project is a good idea—and approach that goal from another angle. I'd like you to write an elevator pitch for your research for Project 4. In a short paragraph (60 to 75 words), explain the basic idea of your research and persuade your group members that it's an important, viable project. We're doing a written version rather than one you have to speak aloud, so we don't need to follow all of the conventions the article lays out, but that should give you the general idea. For our purposes, the most important aspects are that you're trying to persuade your group, in about 30 seconds (hence the length requirement of 60 to 75 words), that your Project 4 is valuable and feasible.Notice that I'm assigning this elevator pitch—a shorter, less thorough version of a proposal—after Project 3. That's because an effective elevator pitch actually requires more mastery and knowledge of your topic than a proposal. You have continued researching and thinking about your research since Project 3, progressing towards the final product that you will submit at the end of this module, and you are now better prepared to choose only the most important and relevant information in the pitch.
