Recently,
there has been an increase in the number of challenges
faced by professionals involved in the collection of garbage and recycling in
San Jose. Since the onset of
COVID-19 pandemic, ggarbage hauling firms in San Jose have
been experiencing financial strain due to stopped and terminated
collections by businesses and a gap in recycling etiquette on the part of local
residents (Millward, 2020).
This is regardless of the fact that waste collection and recycling
has become all the more crucial as waste disposal has increased in
residential areas. The
drop might result in lower profits from recycled garbage and more costs
associated with removing the extra pollution. The environment will be put under
stress, and worker safety will be compromised. In San Jose as a whole,
garbage has dropped dramatically. Businesses in the area have therefore reduced their
production of food scraps and other types of liquid waste by half.
Due to
these problems in waste collection and recycling, there is a need a need to
come up with a program to solve recycle issue. The proposed program is named San
Jose Waste Recycling Service. It provides a novel, high-value, and
cost-effective strategy for meeting San Jose's long-term garbage recycling
needs. The program will aim at using environmentally friendly means to collect
and recycle waste in San Jose. It will also consider raising public awareness
on the importance of preventing environmental pollution by disposing of waste
materials into the right places for collection and recycling. The program is
useful as it will solve the recycling problems in San Jose.
Garbage
recycling in San Jose had dropped dramatically since 2020.
The
bad news is that this has led to an increase in the amount of trash being
dumped in landfills as well as a 20% decrease in the amount of recyclables that
can be sold by waste collection companies to the factories that manufacture new
items from recycled materials. Trash and recycling collection in San Jose's
residential areas have increased by 10% in response to the rising number of
people who opted to work from home (Reese, 2021). However, as household trash
production rises, an increasing number of garbage bags are being diverted to
recycling centers. Therefore, even a little amount of moisture and
contamination may render certain recyclables, like cardboard, unusable.
