Brown (2018), in the article, “To Retain Employees, Focus on Inclusion — Not Just Diversity,” explores the subject inclusion ways organization can promote their understanding of the employees. The organizations need to understand who their employees really are to promote inclusion. Surveys and other data collection approaches can help organizations to understand their employees. Organizations can “segment employee engagement survey results by minority groups,” “use independent facilitators to conduct focus groups,” and/or “get personal in one-on-one discussions” to collect information that can help them to understand and retain their employees.
