I would like each student's paper to be 4 to 5 (or more) double-spaced
pages long, including bibliography.
Pick at least three news articles at least one of them dated within the
previous two months that relate to one of the microeconomic concepts that we
have been studying.
In your report, state clearly which concept or concepts are involved.
Include at least one graph related to what we have been
studying. It would suffice to use a graph of supply and demand curves from
one of the articles that you are analyzing in your paper or to draw your
own simple diagram of supply and demand curves and show how the news item
might make supply and/or demand shift. A historical graph of something like
sales or wages would not meet this requirement.
Indicate whether the development in the news item is going to help or
hurt the suppliers and the consumers of the product or service involved. If
there is a question of legality, be sure to discuss it.
This is a new requirement:
Make a recommendation for public policy, clearly supported by
the information presented and concepts developed in our course.
