Before the European invention
of Australia, the only people that occupied Australia were the indigenous
people. The indigenous people originated from different nations and had diverse
cultural beliefs, dialects, customs, and laws. The population initially was
approximately 750000. However, the various groups had established a close
relationship with each other and their land, making the indigenous Australians
the staunchest culture. However, different colonists’ groups such as the
Europeans and British started invading the country in the 17 and 18th centuries
due to the increased trading activities and establishment of sailing ships,
increasing accessibility to the country. The first invaders to create interest
in Australian resources and land were the British in 1788 by stated that the
land belonged to no one and began displacing the aboriginals. After the British
invention, later came the Europeans in the late 17 centuries. However, the
coming of the colonists to Australia affected the aboriginals' life. The
Europeans' first encounter with aboriginal Australians was in North Australia
in 17 the century. They grabbed land and resources, resulting in conflicts and
diseases that led to injuries and deaths; today, the aboriginals in Australia
live in remote areas with a low life expectancy.
