Animals have packs, and humans
have families, the basic units within the society. Through family, one receives
love, care and basic needs. In the story, Jerry, the protagonist, learns the
importance of a familial unit-family is more valuable than any material
possessions. This is evident through his adventures, where he eventually learns
to put the needs of others before his own. President Cleveland “Where are You?”
story reflects Jerry’s journey to realizing the importance of his family by
experiencing guilt in self-preservation and learning the act of sacrifice.
