Why are education costs growing progressively?
The cost of books and
school materials has escalated to a level surpassing the tuition fees paid by
students throughout the 1960s and 1970s. For instance, college education costs
have been rising faster than most people would consider fair (Castro, 2019). As
a result of the current situation in the United States, a major problem has
emerged: the "Student Loan Crisis," marked by a staggering increase
in student loan debt. The excessive costs are blamed on the avarice of
universities and banks by many observers (Goldrick-Rab et al., 2016). However,
the factors that significantly influence the dynamics of college degrees
include the interplay between supply and demand, the accessibility of financial
help, and the impact of technological improvements.
