Lara
is seated at the reception, waiting for the receptionist to signal her in. The
reception is painted in homely beige and decorated with various art paintings.
The painting she loves most was of a lion clutching the neck of a helpless
antelope whose eyes were pleading for mercy. A complete replica of her marriage
to Jay, except she was the helpless antelope. She never imagined this was what
marriage would be like when she chose to put the ring on her finger. Things had
been different back then, or maybe she just chose to ignore the blaring red
flags. The receptionist called out her name, drawing her away from her deep
thought.
