Write an essay or to be included
in your application package. This will help the Admissions Committee become
acquainted with you, understand your motivation to attend the university and
determine how well you can express yourself. The essay should be on of the
following topic;
• Each of us
has been inluenced by people, events and situations in our lives. How have
these inluences shaped who you are today?
The essay will be evaluated on clarity, creativity,
completeness of response, sentence structure, spelling, grammar and style.
Ever since I was young, I have wanted to join your university. The reason
is that we both have a shared vision in our core makeup: learning. In my case,
I learned more about myself and the world through various life experiences that
built me into who I am today. We become who we are due to various influences,
including those from our families, colleagues, strangers, and even our faith.
Our parents were role models for doing good things while we were younger, and
our companions shaped our ideas and personalities as we grew older. While some
may have had a positive impact on us, others may have had a detrimental one. As
such, our personal experiences also had a significant impact on us. As such, I
am glad for many things in my life. I appreciate my family and background since
they helped shape my current person. The way I am now is the result of numerous
things, and there are many more that I am not even aware of.
My grandfather was the finest example I could have asked for when I was a
kid. He worked tirelessly, helping me work through challenging mathematical
problems, shared his solid sense of morality and compassion with me, and
trained me how to survive, fish, and play board games. He was a reputable local
arbitrator who had lifted himself and his household out of economic hardship
through nothing but hard work. Best of all, he never regarded me like a mere
child; I was allowed to attend many of his crucial meetings with him. He
provided me with a lot but also had high expectations of me. Years ago, I
recalled attempting to defeat him in only one chess match. When I did, I
questioned my auntie if he had lost the prior game intentionally, and she said
there was no chance he would have let me win. He urged me to comprehend the joy
and pleasure of winning in a fair competition, and I did.
My grandfather passed suddenly
while I was in my senior year of high school, and the loss greatly affected me.
I put all my effort into my academics and extracurricular pursuits to cope with
the sorrow and live in the way I believed my grandfather would have expected me
to. I also worked very hard to provide for my siblings and mother materially
and emotionally. This was also the time in my life when I began to capitalize
on my sincere desire to see people thrive. I started working as a voluntary
personal tutor for youngsters in my community's economically struggling
suburbs, encouraging them to pursue higher education and fostering job success
qualities. These pupils frequently felt defeated and hopeless about influencing
their destinies. I related my experience with the children to serve as a mentor
for them and encourage them to make positive changes in their own lives. I did
this by demonstrating how I conquered both individual and academic challenges
by persevering and working hard. My tutoring changed one student's perspective
on the university admission exam. He gradually stopped seeing it as a chore and
started seeing it as a goal and a chance to make good changes in his life. This
change eventually led him to start his own legal business. Another student
admitted that she had first doubted her ability to pursue a path in medicine
but that our regular chats had encouraged her to set aside her preconceived
notions and aspire higher.
In high school, I also discovered
how to maximize my little free time since, unlike most of my peers, I was
motivated. I booked summer holiday trips for my circle of friends, participated
in the school's football club, and even took a part-time job selling
electronics to help pay for my education. I labored as a home tutor for junior
high students who wanted to pass their tests during the academic year.
Throughout the summer, I was a rafting instructor for visitors from around the
globe at our nearby lake.
I first learned how crucial it was
to comprehend other societies and collaborate with them. This encounter laid
the groundwork for my global viewpoint on a micro-scale. I discovered how
diligent the Swedes are and how temperamentally distinct they are. I could
comprehend why German automobiles are so intricately designed and constructed
thanks to all the Germans I worked with. I shared with these tourists the
hospitality and traditions of my community in exchange for the intercultural
perspectives I had learned. Despite our disagreements, we always found a way to
get along and cooperate. My fascination started this encounter in working in a
multicultural setting, where I might discover ways to incorporate all these
many beliefs and ideologies into my way of life.
Even though this time in my life was difficult, it was also thrilling and
enabled me to prepare for all that would come following. Every person possesses
a hero who maintains them strong, moral, and genuine. After all, I'm dedicated
to becoming a global citizen, leading by stellar example, and providing great
support for the community. Additionally, one might acquire insight as they
think things through. You may select who you wish to be instead of passively
accepting how others now perceive you, somewhat unintentionally living out
their impression. You may even choose a fresh role model who embodies the
qualities you want to adopt for yourself. You might then resolve to work on
cultivating such traits. As such, I am
more certain than ever that your university is where I want to devote the
duration of my life pursuing my chosen course.
