We live in societies where
people are not free to think or express themselves. A society where rules
governing us were made long ago and are still applicable. Most people are still
influenced by the thoughts of previous generations and do not want to think
beyond them. People are yet to accept and embrace others` opinions positively.
Unfortunately, individuals who try to think beyond the normal are treated like
evildoers.Anthem was initially written in 1987, published in 1938 and has later
undergone several editions. I would use contrast to differentiate between the
current society and the one in the book context. It would disclose some of the
current society's features reflected in the novel. Comparing and contrasting
would help me to gain insight into the connection between the novel and society.
