Introduction
Due to society's many languages, the need to translate communication between languages has arisen. On the other hand, the various perspectives, notions, and concepts underpin the perceptions of individuals of various languages. As a result, the pragmatic meaning of ideas should be preserved, and this is what translators strive for during the translation process. These people may struggle with theoretical interpretations in the original language, but at the very least, they should be able to communicate the ideas correctly. A translator's competence is based on their sensitivity to variations in this inner meaning. As a result, translation scholarship research is ideal for developing translation competence. When it comes to pragmatics, there are various factors to consider. Sun Tzu's The Art of War is an intelligent Chinese treatise about war and strategy. The document, created in the sixth century BC, collects Chinese military leaders' plans and tactics. The document’s writing can be interpreted as a military treaty from Ancient China. The book has had an impact in the boardroom and on the battlefield. However, since its translation into French in the late eighteenth century, Western interest in the work has grown. The central research question therefore is that what is the expression of pragmatics in the translation of The art of war by Sun Tzu from Chinese to English? English version was created during the turn of the twentieth century. Therefore, the aspects of pragmatics through both perspective and behavior will be understood by analyzing the translation of the art of war by Sun Tzu.
