Throughout the week, identify 3 to 5 examples of the HR competencies-in-action by HR professionals or by others in your everyday life. Journal about each example below. In each entry, complete the following:

There was increased communication between the employees and the management and between employees and customers creating a conducive working environment.

Active communication helps get feedback to enhance stakeholder persuasion and engagement.

The HR is able to motivate employees to post best results through active communication.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion

 

Interaction between people from different racial and ethnic groups

Embracing diversity helps in enhancing trust from all stakeholders as they have a sense of belonging.

Embracing diversity, including employees despite their color or origin, and enhancing equality provides a conducive working environment.

Embracing diversity is an example of HR competency as it helps in diversifying talents, ideas and innovation.

Business acumen

Analysis of the market conditions

Analysis of the market conditions equip the HR with the right information to select most appropriate skills to enhance performance.

 

Analysis helps in economic awareness, change management, and promotion of agility.

Business acumen plays a critical role in recruitment to hire employees with the most appropriate skills and expertise.

 

 

 

 

 

 

However, my strongest competence is communication. I can communicate verbally and written to inform, persuade, and motivate colleagues and clients. In contrast, I would like to improve on business acumen to forecast and keep in touch with the market dynamics and embrace new technology easily. Improving business acumen could help enhance economic awareness, business agility, and change management. Some of the strategies I can use to improve on business acumen competence include analysis of the financial aspects of the business by assessing the financial statements and intelligence data. I could also improve by consulting experts on various strategies to enhance my ability to analyze and improve business performance. Another strategy is an analysis of the customer needs, business model and strategic techniques, market trends, and forecasting future dynamics. Thus, among the identified human resource management competencies, my strength lies in communication, but I need to improve my business acumen to better understand business dynamics and economic changes.

There are various HRM competencies that human resource managers apply to enhance performance. However, the most common competencies in the workplace included business acumen, communication and diversity, equity, and inclusion. My strength lies in effective communication, and I should improve my business acumen skills.
