As you
watch the videos assigned to Week 2: Module 2, think about how you experience
other people on a daily basis, especially in difficult situations. And think
about how they experience you. Then post a thread that synthesizes your
response to the questions that follow. What 3 ideas help to advance how we
engage potential or real conflict situations? Be specific.
How does each of these three ideas help us think differently about how to
engage difficult situations and/or difficult people? Make the connections
clear. What one biblical truth / scripture advances or supports this
conversation? Explain your choice. Added the transcripts of the videos,
couldn't download actual video. Cite the bible and one other source.
1.Conflict can be referred to as
an articulated struggle amid at least two interrelated entities who recognize opposing
goals, limited assets, and outside intrusion to accomplish their objectives. In
Dr. Henry Cloud case, he provided leadership advice in the video "The
Evil, The Foolish, and The Wise" by describing how to handle each group of
people. According to Dr. Cloud, smart people would strive to modify themselves
or their behavior to overcome problems after learning the truth or being aware
of them (Hocker & Professor, 2017). When working with wise people, it's
important to keep them engaged, assign them tasks they're good at, and ensure
you haven't outgrown them. Dr. Cloud emphasized that dealing with Wise people
is easy since they are open to communication and listening (Hocker &
Professor, 2017). Dr. Cloud said that interacting with foolish people may be
challenging since they always have excuses and don't take feedback well. The
Foolish will downplay issues and place the blame elsewhere. Additionally, according
to Dr. Cloud, the best way to safeguard oneself against foolish people is to
establish boundaries and reduce contact with the offender. When working with a
Foolish person, find out their preferred mode of exchange and how they are
interested in your comments. You must devise a strategy and carry it out with
repercussions if nothing alters (Hocker & Professor, 2017). According to
Dr. Cloud, the best method to cope with an evil person whose sole objective is
to do destruction is to keep your distance from them. Conflict will always
arise in your chosen career, whether from outside sources or inside your
company.
