The opioid epidemic is a major
public health concern, with devastating consequences for all the parties
affected. In recent years, the issue has garnered significant attention in the
media, with news outlets reporting on the interventions and the overdose death
tally of this public health concern. Although the Lazarus drug has been
endorsed to mitigate this crisis, controversial opinions impact the debate on
its efficacy. Therefore, it is integral to examine how the media addresses this
concern, its controversial nature, communication, and media theory related to
it, and suggestions for improving the issue based on this theory for proper
public health management.
