The purpose of this paper is to interpret the two articles identified as most important to the group topic.

Social media is an entertaining channel through which individuals interact with various individuals worldwide. Social media exposes individuals to other people's lives, and whatever people see on social media can affect them in diverse ways. Whatever individuals see on social media can make them feel alone or left out of various activities and luxuries of life, influencing their thoughts and feelings. The amount individuals spend online perusing multiple social media platforms has adverse effects on their mental health. According to the Child Institute and The National Center for Health Research, it explains that individuals that frequently use social media feel more depressed and less content with their life compared to those individuals that rarely use social media. The clinical question of this research study is: How does social media use affect one's mental well-being. The analysis exploits different resources to help answer the question and help develop strategies to reduce the effects that social media may cause on an individual's mental health. According to World Data, in 2017, 792 million suffered from mental health problems worldwide, establishing that mental health is an issue in society. Hence, it the important to determine how social media platforms affect individuals' mental well-being. This study aims to determine how social media affects individuals' mental health and develop strategies to help overcome the effects of social media on one's health.
