Weekly Discussion Board posts:

Each student must submit ONE weekly discussion board post on assigned readings every week. The posts must be within 100-250 words range. They will be due every Tuesday by 5pm Sep 20 onward.

1) Pick any one key concept/theme addressed in the assigned readings for the day.

2) Include one quotation from the readings specified in the weekly module that you think your classmates would benefit from revisiting and discussing. Explain the significance of the quote―i.e. what is most interesting about it in relation to feminism or gender and/or social justice under discussion in this course. You may also connect it to other related issues or cases that we have discussed in this course and you observe in the world today.

3) Raise one or two broad questions that emerge from the readings. Fact-based questions (e.g. When was World War I?) do not count. However, you may raise a fact-based question you want clarified in addition to the other questions.

1. Pick one key concept /theme addressed in the assigned readings for the day;Over the past decade, the number of women in the military has increased. Women are now serving in all but a few branches and have begun to reach new heights. They serve as Army Rangers, Navy SEALs, and Marine Corps foot soldiers. Women are working at some of the most important military posts and leading operations from behind the scenes. Their role within the military has been changing rapidly and dramatically in the last two decades, particularly due to the removal of the combat exclusion for women in the military.
