Please write a response to the comment below. Maybe a paragraph or two. The comment is the answer to this discussion board question. (Uber is a technology-based business. As the business evolves, how do you see the additions of public regulations impacting a business such as Uber? For example, are drivers employers or contractors?)
As the world moves toward
digitalization, businesses are becoming more reliant on technology. Uber
is an example of enterprises increasing the need for effective public
regulation to control and enhance their operations. Most transportation-related
firms relying on technology, like Uber, have been flooding the market with
automobiles since their establishment. The market-flooding negative effects
such as traffic jams can be prevented by implementing rules for tight
licensing standards. Drivers at Uber are considered contractors, which is a
problem that most digital businesses face. If Uber and other online businesses
are compelled to consider their contractors as employees, they will be required
to provide them with benefits improving their livelihoods (Bull,
2018). Regulating technology-based businesses will also help avoid cases of tax
evasion. Businesses such as Uber avoid paying taxes through exploitation of
loopholes in the law, requiring keen measures to prevent it (Bull,
2018). Therefore, through proper regulations, technology-based businesses can
boost the economy through fair competition, employee welfare, and
revenue-boosting through taxes.

Review. https://www.theregreview.org/2018/04/26/bull-uber-future-regulation/
In today's world, businesses
are opting to utilize technology to meet the high rate of technology and
digitization. Therefore, businesses such as uber necessitate the establishment
of public regulations to enhance their operations. For instance, licensing
standards could mitigate traffic jams. In addition, considering the contractors
( uber drivers) as employees could help improve their livelihood. Also,
regulating technology-based businesses could help prevent tax evasion as the
businesses exploit loopholes in laws and regulations to avoid tax payments.
Therefore, initiating proper regulation and laws of technology-based businesses
could boost the economy from tax collection and employee welfare and enhance
fair competition.
Public regulation of the uber
business, which relies heavily on technology, is crucial in managing the
contractors, employees, and customers. For instance, proper management of
employees leads to high-quality products and services hence customer satisfaction.
In addition to adhering to the set regulations, the uber business should
embrace change to survive in the rapidly evolving technology (Rothaermel, 2021). For instance,
contractors and employees are the backbones of the business. Hence, the public
regulations should set policies on proper management to enhance the business's
success in the long run and enhance its rapid growth and development.
Furthermore, suppose the public regulation supports the high growth of the uber
business. In that case, it helps enhance the people's living standards by
creating employment, enhancing transport efficiency, and enhancing economic
growth (Rothaermel, 2021).
Thus, the public regulations significantly impact technology-based businesses
such as uber business. Therefore, public regulation of business helps in
adherence to local government policies and enhances the management of
contractors, employees, and customers to enhance customer experience and
satisfaction and compete favorably.
