Expert Solution

The cold war affected the American Education system positively. During world war 2, the government needed defence-based scientific research to promote efficiency and necessity. Since universities could provide this research, the government began paying attention to universities, and as such, student enrolments and funded research increased during the cold war. Increased student enrollment aimed at training workers who would be strategic in winning the cold war and promoting democracy as a tool to enhance social opportunities. However, the war affected the economy negatively. Since the economy followed a Keynesian approach at the time, the government spent heavily on things such as the military, which led to inflation. To resolve this, the government changed their approach to neo-liberal economic policies and reduced taxes, which led to the economy's growth and deficit spending by the government.
