Bartolome De Las Casas played a significant role in ending the exploitation of natives in the Spanish colonies through petitions that led to King Charles’ agreement with the new laws of setting slaves free. His efforts towards creating a peaceful state began during his studies of the juridical issues among the Indies in Spain. His religious duties on returning to Santo Domingo were driven by his urge to end oppression, injustice, and domination by the Europeans on minorities.[1]. He believed Spain would experience a significant misfortune if they went through God's punishment. La Casas was known as an advocate for his efforts to protect Indians.Welcoming Indians to Christianity would promote equality, and they would earn the same respect as existing Christians.Hypocritical religion made people kill each other in pursuit of quick riches. Therefore, they needed better meanings of Christianity beyond the natural wickedness and cruelty.
