We
read about experiments and surveys this week. Which one is the most useful for
your research? Why? Give an example of when an experiment or survey would be
best and explain why. Explain a time when you were the
respondent for an experiment or a survey, if you were the researcher, how would
you have performed it differently? Why?
Both experiments and surveys
are standard research methodologies, each with unique strengths and
weaknesses. When I think about the methods that might be most helpful for my
study, I always return to doing experiments. Scientists can utilize
experiments to determine what factors affect a specific outcome by
systematically varying those factors and recording the results. Using a
systematic and organized approach, researchers may reach solid results and make
well-considered choices.
