Part I Informed consent is a significant component
in the medical and research field as it enhances individuals' awareness of
risks, benefits, and alternatives involved in any presented medical procedure
or research study before the provision of consent. Despite several parts of the
world not adequately practicing informed consent, several actions can be taken
to mitigate this ethical issue. One health care providers, researchers, and the
general public should receive education on the various types of interventions
from experts, and healthcare professionals should be able to relay the provided
information to the patients to reduce miscommunication even among the
healthcare team (Shah et al., 2022). Moreover, strict rules and regulations may
be enacted to ensure that obtaining informed consent is properly followed.
