Also known as Saudization, the SNS is a policy put into action by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, whereby Saudi companies are required to employ Saudi Nationals on a quota basis. Job creation and unemployment was a major problem that Saudi Arabia was facing for over 50 years, and it had nothing to do with a lack of capital. In fact, the rate of investments in Saudi was soaring. With a 32% unemployment rate for younger workers, the Saudi youth faced a detrimental issue that had to be resolved. There were also numerous social issues that came to the surface as unemployment rates increased such as creating division and status barriers between citizens.
