Remember,
your reflection should not summarize the readings & lecture, but
evaluate this information within the context of your existing knowledge, laying
out how the readings and main ideas from lecture confirmed, challenged, and
expanded your understanding. Since this is an informal piece of writing, feel
free to use the word "I" and speak from
your personal experience. Reflections are not summaries of assigned texts, but
spaces for students to think broadly, make connections, and raise important
questions. You are expected to connect assigned texts to those previously read
in this class through comparison and contrast
Saint Thomas
Aquinas is considered by many to be one of the greatest and most influential
speculative theologians in medieval times and history. Some of Saint Thomas'
most renowned works include the
Summa against the Gentiles and the Summa of Theology, which
is both geared to explain the Christian Faith, even using Aristotle's theories.
Saint Thomas' deductions of the Christian Faith in accessing the knowledge of
God are fundamental and accurate. Hence, through philosophical evidence and
experiences, it is necessary to support Saint Thomas' works.
