As per Divine creation,
marriage is a committed, lifelong partnership between two people who share a
close-knit commune of love and life. They fully commit to one another and are
responsible for conceiving, delivering, and raising children making the desire
for marriage to be ingrained in human nature. As a result, marriage is among
the most revered gifts and joys bestowed upon humanity. This honor is a
divinely-created sacred connection. In the past, people believed that only men
and women should get married. From ancient times until recently, most
Christians—and even non-Christians—adhered steadfastly to the conventional view
of marriage as a relationship between a male and a woman. However, contrary to
what the Bible teaches about marriage and who is eligible for it, the modern
definition and idea of marriage promote a particular view. The base concept of
marriage seems to go against the nature of homosexuality and same-sex union
given aspects such as the sense sexual intimacy plays in marriage and complementary
characteristics not featuring in the union, however, the concept of love may be
used as a supporting factor. With
factors like the role that sexual closeness plays in marriage and the absence
of complementing traits in the union, the basic idea of marriage appears to go
against the nature of homosexuality and same-sex relationships. Yet, the idea
of love may be employed as a bolstering element.
