Write a research paper evaluating a specific theological methodology. Your assignment is to deeply evaluate, analyze, and scrutinize Bernard Lonergan methodology with evangelical theological methodology. Other Analyzations of theological methods in various theological traditions and persuasions can be utilized. The research is to be creative, insightful and move the student to greater understanding of the research.

When composing a thesis statement, it is essential not to merely state the topic or purpose of the paper, but to put into words the main idea and primary conclusion that will capture the reader’s attention. The thesis statement is generally placed at the end of the introductory paragraph, though it can appear elsewhere, depending upon the composition category (see “Stage One” of “Thesis Statement Development” on p. 3). This foundational statement must be in the form of a single, complete sentence that succinctly states the main subject of the paper along with the primary conclusion drawn from the research. The thesis statement is analogous to a “movie trailer” that gives readers an engaging glimpse into the main conclusion, compelling them to read further. Bernard Lonergan was convinced of the existence of God and asserted this belief in his philosophical works. He suggested that God's reality is affirmed in the unrestricted nature of human knowing and loving. Lonergan proposed that the human's unrestricted desire to know implies an unrestricted act of understanding, which in itself is the act of the transcendent God.

The act of the unrestricted love of God is also a proof of God's existence when the human's unrestricted desire to love culminates in the self-surrender to God.    Lonergan's argument for the reality of God relies heavily on the theory of intentionality        analysis and the notion of the transcendental precepts (Gallagher, 2007)
