1.What can we learn
from Josiah (and other good leaders in the Bible) that can help us when we are
in leadership positions, or under a leader attempting to do what is right? In
contrast to previous kings, King Josiah did have a significant influence on the
people of Israel. However, people may draw lessons from the Josiah story that
still holds in the perplexing reality of the 21st century, which is frequently
marked by the misuse of political authority and authorities who exhibit warped
forms of leadership. In the text, Josiah gathered Jerusalem's seniors and
leaders to inform them of the reformation he intended to bring about on a
national scale (Wessner, 2018). All of the Judah population was initially
gathered for the recitation of the law book. Both the populace and the
authorities committed to upholding the covenant outlined in the law, just as
they had done in the time of Moses. (Wessner, 2018) Following this gathering
and the decision to uphold the Lord's covenant, the nation underwent a profound
change. This reform and his approach depended on his need to 'doing right in
the eyes of the LORD.' Since this pattern is based on top-down leadership,
every company may benefit from understanding its relevance (Pretorius et al.,
2018). When workers lack the knowledge or conviction to make choices
independently, the technique can be utilized to lead them successfully.
Therefore, top-down management can be seen in how King Josiah approached the
reform where he his conviction was used to guide those he ruled.
