Intersectionality is the overlapping of social justice issues, such as racism, culminating in several social injustice levels. The story of Emma exemplified intersectionality as she claimed she was not hired based on race and gender. Still, the judge dismissed her claims because the company hired women and Black people (Crenshaw, 2016). Notably, the issue of racism and sexism overlapped as she was not hired as an African-American woman (Crenshaw, 2016).
