particular scene paying close attention to language, image, an other internal
literary elements. A strong argument should be something that's supported by
textual evidence and can also be argued against. This will help you get out of
simply summarizing the scene. This is a close-reading paper, which means you
are not expected to bring in any ouputside historical or critical research.
(For instance, you don't need to find scholarly articles on the Black
population of London in 1600) Instead look at the language
in order to make your argument. In order to really dive into the language I'm
requiring you to include some engagement with the OED. Use the OED at least
once to help you precisely define one of the terms/words in your chosen scene.
At the end of your paper include an additional paragraph that explains how you
would stage this scene if you were the director. How would your staging choices
or instructions to your actors be shaped by the argument that you just
made? Include a film clip of the scene of your chosen too accompany your

William
Shakespeare is a formidable playwright who delivered to the world of literature
The Taming of the Shrew. The play comprehensively explores social hierarchy,
love, and gender roles significantly entrenched in society. A notable scene
worth rigorous analysis is “taming, " the fifth scene of the fourth act.
Petruchio, the husband of Katherine, is the actor in the taming of his wife;
the two are newlyweds. Petruchio's method employed for dominance assertion is
peculiar since Katherine’s outspoken nature and strong will are palpable
throughout the beginning of the play. Therefore, this comprehensive writ will
summarize, analyze, and critique the scene for peculiar language imagery and
outstanding literary elements.
