Your paper must have the
following: A clear thesis related to the topic. An introduction that explains
your topic, your stance, and why it is important / why your stance is correct.
At least 3 paragraphs and 3 full pages and no more than 5 pages of proof that
your stance on the topic is correct, without saying "I think" or
"you." You can avoid using personal pronouns if you state the facts
you found within your research. This is a critical component of college
writing. You cannot write opinion based research. It must be fact based. You
must argue the counter point. What I mean by that is that you should tell me
what the opposition of your stance on the subject states, and tell me why it's
wrong according to your research. Your conclusion is a summary of the valid
points you produce within the body paragraphs of your essay. Do not simply
restate the same thesis, but do summarize the thesis and the points you make.
If necessary, you may include your opinion on the topic in this section. The
one clear difference I want you to see is that in your research, you were
informing your reader about something they may not have known about your topic.
Here, in an argument, you should write as if you are planning a verbal debate.
Take your stance and use your research to prove you are correct in this stance
Homework is a controversial
subject in the education sector due to its longstanding history, and this is
attributed to the varying arguments surrounding how this form of assessment
affects students. Antagonists argue that these assessments have detrimental
effects on students, such as elevating stress levels, reducing leisure time,
and enhancing educational inequities. However, proponents of this assessment
argue that it is essential for exemplary academic achievement and wholesome
development of students. Therefore, these assessments are a crucial aspect of
promoting academic success among students, as they facilitate the retention of
learned material, foster the acquisition of vital skills, and encourage
parental engagement, bolstering academic performance and surpassing its disadvantages.
