and presentation: You need to conduct research to assist the chosen
organization in addressing a particular Digital Marketing concern/problem or an
opportunity. At the end, you will present the summary of your research project.
Option B:
Develop an entrepreneurial
project, where you will prepare to establish a new business venture. This
project will include development of business plan, feasibility study,
marketing, financial/HR management strategies. At the end, you will present the
summary of your business plan.
Requirements for a Capstone
Project
The student is required to:
A. Develop a Research Question OR Feasibility report of establishing a business – before you start this part of the project, it needs to be approved by the project supervisor
B.Conduct Literature Review to support your research question OR conduct a market need analysis to support the business idea
C.Formulate Research Design & Methodology Strategy to support your research or Business Idea. This needs to be approved by your supervisor before you start.
D.Carry out Data Analysis
E.Discuss the possible limitations & ethical considerations linked to your research project OR business plan
F. Recommendations & Conclusion
G. Present the Research Results OR Business Plan

The
dates for the onset of the much-anticipated FIFA World Cup, 2022, are soon
approaching. Since then, it has
prompted entrepreneurs to pay attention to strategies to make significant revenues
during that time. The event, which will be held in Qatar, is anticipated to
open up a wide range of marketplaces for goods related to the massive number of
visitors from the 32 participating countries. Selling handicrafts and souvenirs
to tourists is a business that will be successful since it is a lucrative
opportunity and there is a need to assist the tourists to remember the
tournament, which is a once-in-a-lifetime chance. The project entails starting
a new enterprise named 'Marhaban Qatar' that will sell designed and
manufactured handicrafts and souvenirs by the local Qatar people. In
collaboration with partners like the Ooredoo- a leading telecommunication
company in Qatar, and Al Jawal- a furniture store, the business will stabilize
the economy of Qatar by offering jobs and income to the local artists of Qatar
hence improving their livelihood.
Tourists
appreciate handicrafts and souvenirs since they function as reminders of the
places they have visited and make them feel good about their trip. However,
selling souvenirs and handicrafts has had several issues in the past that, if
fixed, will increase the likelihood of making more money. It's crucial to note
that some visitors prefer to purchase other items with their money rather than pay
attention to the value of such handicrafts. Others attribute it to the stress
of shopping, which is exacerbated by having limited space in their bags and not
having the exact souvenirs a consumer would like. Because
souvenirs have a significant cost to manufacture, tourists are deterred from
purchasing them. Social media, according to (George & S.L, 2020), is a
powerful marketing tool. The tool's unsuccessful application in the marketing
of handicrafts has resulted in a tiny target market. When managed
appropriately, the business will see a spike in sales, boosting overall
profitability.
The ultimate goal of the business is to use waste recyclable plastics to bring about the economic well-being of the local artists and the Qatari people. Below are the objectives that the project aims to achieve:
i. Earn more revenues and profits than the initial costs of producing handicrafts and souvenirs and invest in larger projects.
ii. Achieve tourist satisfaction by creating effective public relations measures that will, in turn, retain local clients in Qatar.
iii.Measure the cost of production and gain more than thirty percent of the profit from sales in the cost of production in the initial three months of business operation. Moreover, maximum profits should be realized during the month of the FIFA World cup tournament.
iv. Produce valuable handcrafted souvenirs that will give customers a reason to consider buying the products.

The
success of the project will be greatly influenced by how the company's problems
are addressed. There will be a variety of strategies employed, including
forging alliances with influential companies like Ooredoo and Al Jadwal.
Additionally, using marketing channels like Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat
helps a business develop its reputation and forge relationships with customers
(George & S.L, 2020). Sites like Talabat and Snoonu offer online marketing
platforms. In time, travelers who will spend money in the companies will be
attracted by the depictions of Qatari culture in those establishments. The
distribution techniques for handicrafts should be effective in order to
accommodate the convenience of world cup visitors. If the strategies are
successfully and completely implemented, the business is expected to be a
success.
