Expert Solution

Section 1

What is the conclusion?

In order to remain in business, the Australia post will have to digitalize. Digitalization of its services will make it competitive

What are three premises to support the conclusion? (6 marks)

Digitization is one of the major disruptive technologies that cuts across all industries compelling businesses to restructure their services.

It will enable them to diversify their operations, giving them access to markets that were once closed off.

It will enable them to increase their profits as they will increase, diversify and specialize the outputs making them more preferable to consumers. This will increase their sales which will result in an increase in profits.

What could be an objection? (2 marks)

A complete migration to a digital business may lead to the loss of its existing customers and shareholders due to conflict of interest.

What could be a rebuttal? (2 marks)

Arguably the Australia post can still maintain its current operation model by discounting slower services and increasing its prices.

Choose any three of Paul & Elder’s universal standards and evaluate the quality of the argument advanced in article. (3 marks) 40w

The argument poses clarity as the point being addressed is easily understood and well stated. The supporting statements of the argument are logical as they relate to the current operating environment of the business. The supporting evidence is based on the business loss and profit reports: hence it is not superficial.
