Hello this
is a Masters Degree essay with 5 questions. I am giving you question 1 which is
750 words not 825. The question is Can A Computer Think? One source to use is:
TURING, A., 1950. I.—computing machinery and intelligence. Mind,
LIX(236), pp.433-460.
the below is the marking rubric so please include:
•Explanation of why this question is relevant
to AI (artificial intelligence) and AIED (artificial
intelligence in education)
• Explanation of Turing’s (turing test)
argument and points
• Definition of counter
arguments to Turing’s points, with examples
• Student’s independent
conclusions Also please support you arguments with evidence. Please use a UK
writer I can usually tell when a non native foreigner is
writing.
Artificial
intelligence presents the potential to create human-like intelligence in
machines. Artificial intelligence describes the ability of machines to perform
tasks that would need intelligence and thus can only be hitherto performed by
humans before the development of the machines to do so. Since the birth of this
concept in the mid-twentieth century, a recurring question revolving around the
ability of artificial intelligence has been continually posed. The question
"Can AI think" primarily involves the Turing test, which poses it
differently. Therefore, the Turing test is critical to determine artificial
intelligence and further grow it by showing its most unique attributes. In this
paper, various arguments for this question are described as well as the purpose
behind the question. Therefore, where artificial intelligence should reach the
potential of human intelligence, the Turing test is essential in identifying
artificial intelligence's ability to think.
