approach to combining candidates` assessment scores that I would select is the
multiple hurdle method. The method involves a chain of hurdles the candidate
has to overcome to move to the next selection step (Phillips & Gully,
2015). The approach is effective since it considers the key criteria in every
selection process, consisting of a specific cut-off score. Candidates should
pass the cut-off score to qualify to proceed with the selection. I would choose
this method because it reduces the number of applicants by considering aspects
such as education level, and cognitive ability, among others. The approach also
helps the employer to refine the candidate pool by considering only qualified
candidates and enhancing the validity of the process.
