Expert Solution

1.The approach to combining candidates` assessment scores that I would select is the multiple hurdle method. The method involves a chain of hurdles the candidate has to overcome to move to the next selection step (Phillips & Gully, 2015). The approach is effective since it considers the key criteria in every selection process, consisting of a specific cut-off score. Candidates should pass the cut-off score to qualify to proceed with the selection. I would choose this method because it reduces the number of applicants by considering aspects such as education level, and cognitive ability, among others. The approach also helps the employer to refine the candidate pool by considering only qualified candidates and enhancing the validity of the process.
