Discussion Prompt: Onboarding, Employee Engagement, and Training

Read HR In Action Case Incident 2: Carter Cleaning Company: The New Training Program in Chapter 7 of the Dessler (2019) text. Discuss with your classmates how the concepts taught by Leman & Pentak (2004) and Dessler (2019) regarding onboarding, employee engagement, and training would apply to the case study. In your initial post, compare and contrast the perspectives communicated in the two course texts and include ways in which the concepts you highlight are supported or refuted by Scripture (cite specific examples from the texts and from Scripture).

biblical perspective just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ” (Holy Bible, New International Version, 1 Corinthians 12:12).Our bodies are made up of different parts. The parts are different for a purpose, and in their differences they must work together. In the same way, we each play a different part in the body of Christ and should use our different gifts, together, to spread the good news.

An organization is similar in that it must take all of the unique skills and abilities of those in the organization and apply them to achieve a positive outcome. Training and retention are two tools the HR person or supervisor can use to motivate employees to make use of their skills and abilities. Training, in particular, is often used as the motivational arm of the organization.

Expert Solution

As stated in 1 Corinthians 12:12, Carter Cleaning Company's onboarding, engagement, and training strategies emphasize the purposeful use of individual talents for the benefit of the group while also actively encouraging proactive skill development and fostering a positive work environment by following the recommendations made by Dessler (2019) and Leman & Pentak (2004)
