Leadership in the workplace is
expected to change significantly after the 2020 pandemic. This is presented in
this article, which also provides a list of traits that leaders should adopt to
cope with the changing work environment. Therefore, a summary of this article,
correlating it to chapters covered in class, will highlight the value of this
article to leadership.The article begins by focusing on the shifts in the
employment sector after the pandemic. The article in the first section
introduces hybrid work and the great resignation as the primary changes in the
work environment after the pandemic as are expected to have a long life span in
this environment (Fine, 2022). Therefore, the post-pandemic work environment
will differ significantly from the conventional work environment prompting
changes in leadership style. The article supports its argument on the
prevalence and existence of hybrid work and resignation by providing statistics
from Microsoft. Based on these statistics, the opportunities for hybrid work
and the number of people willing to transition to and resign from their jobs
have increased tremendously (Fine, 2022). Generally, the first section of the
article is an analysis of the changes the work environment will face after the
pandemic.
