Please
see attached information on the graph I provided and answer accordingly. We all
tend to focus on some of the above factors more than others ( e.g. codes
or organizational policies more than the client’s voice or on personal values
more than on standard of practice etc.). So, as part of this class, I invite
you to reflect on your practice by reflecting on these questions: Respond to
the following questions, intuitively and/or based on your everyday work. If you
don’t have a current work context to base a response on, then imagine being in
a future clinical context & respond from the future (Tip: it might help
to run couple of specific clinical dilemmas in your head & be creative!
Take a playful step…)
1.Based
on the above slide, which factor or factors do you tend to lean on when making
clinical decisions?
2.Which of the above factors usually sit lower on your priority list?
3.And/or what is the observation of your own decision-making process? After you respond to the above questions, pick ONE of the questions below to answer: 1) What are you learning from these readings on postmodernism or social construction/constructivism practices? OR 2) How will you put some of the views of social constructionist/constructivist into practice when you are in session? OR 3) What are the differencesbetween traditional psychotherapy and the postmodern approach to ethics?
Clinical
decision-making denotes a crucial aspect that professionals in various fields,
including psychotherapy necessitate considering (Fenton‐O'Creevy,
2022).
There are various factors that affect the process of decision-making and have
significant effects on the quality-of-care medical professionals provide to
clients. In my case, codes of ethics and organizational policies are among the
significant factors that hold weight when I am making decisions. These factors
serve as substantial guidelines that guarantee that my patience is parallel to
professional standards and upholds moral conduct. Adhering to the established
code of conduct upholds my peace of mind since these factors provide a
framework for upholding client well-being and safety.
