Prevention programs play an
essential role in the society. Most of the prevention programs aim to address
such issues as poverty, drug abuse, unemployment, crimes, racism, and health
problems, among others. Prevention programs, such as SOAR, have significant
influence on the wellbeing of the society; some of the programs have helped to
minimize drug and alcohol abuse among young people while others have
substantially helped to change overall wellbeing of the vulnerable social
groups in the society. The programs are carefully designed to accomplish
particular missions. By narrowing down the purpose of each program, it becomes
easier to achieve their goals. For a prevention program to achieve success, it
is essential to ensure it has a sound management, skilled leadership, a clear
mission/vision, an effective structure, and a strategic plan.
