Is it
really important for a security professional to be familiar with scripting
techniques? Why or why not? Research one Port-scanning tools other than the
ones listed: SYN scan, Connect scan, Null scan, XMAS scan,
ACK scan, FIN scan, UDP scan, NMAP, Ping Sweep, and NESSUS and OpenVAS, and
list its features, and why you think it should be adopted.
Not all cybersecurity
positions demand that candidates have prior experience in scripting and
programming. For numerous entry-level occupations, for instance, a high degree
of expertise in these subjects is unnecessary until a person advances to a more
senior career stage (Jones et al., 2018). However, having a basic knowledge of
programming and scripting is essential for everyone in the cybersecurity
industry as it enables staff members to remain on top of attackers and emerging
exploitative techniques (Jones et al., 2018). All cybersecurity experts must
understand scripting languages to evaluate software for inherent shortcomings,
safety vulnerabilities, and hidden harmful programs.
