(the words), all specifiers, the DSM-5TR numeric code, and diagnostic
justification. Be sure to include the case name associated with each

Diagnosis: Adjustment
disorder (AD)
DSM-5TR numeric code: F43.23
Justification: Mr. Sims has suffered through consecutive traumatic events in his
life, including breaking up with his long-term girlfriend and discovering his
father’s identity. Some clinically significant distress markers include his
fear of making ends meet and his inability to stop working, possibly because he
couldn’t face what he was going through. Additionally, Mr. Sims has a history
of heavy drinking and using marijuana in high school. While in college, he
prefers time alone and doesn't like when there are people in his room for
particular reasons.
This
type of DSM-5TR is related to symptoms such as avoidance, evident in Sim’s
desire to work more than is allocated in the schedule and his dislike for
having friends over, proving his avoidance of people. Additionally, anxiety can
be traced using his irregular sleeping patterns. Finally, his recurrent sad
episodes are also symptoms associated with AD.
Mr.
Sims can be treated through therapy and does not qualify as clinically
significant distress or impairment patient.
