Video games have various
negative consequences, such as reduced sleep quality. Therefore, this
experimental study will access the changes in sleep that college students face
after playing video games. This study will have a unique hypothesis and
variables. Playing these games, especially in the evening, is one factor that
propels sleeping problems (Peracchia & Curcio, 2018). Therefore, this study
will hypothesize that playing these games before bedtime negatively impacts
sleep quality in college students. This hypothesis will aid in addressing the
research gap in this field due to limited research on the topic, prompting the
need for further research (Peracchia & Curcio, 2018). Additionally, the
variables of this study will also play a crucial in addressing this research
gap. The independent variable of this study is playing video games such as
Minecraft before bedtime, while the dependent variable is sleep quality.
Generally, the variables and hypothesis of this study will play a crucial role
in addressing the research gap on this topic.
