comments that reflect critical thinking and application of the material, while
also encouraging dialogue among participants, concerning the topic. I, and only
I, am able to initiate the weekly thread; therefore, all responses should
follow my initial comment/question. The objective is to demonstrate your
understanding of the key concepts and your ability to converse meaningfully
about these concepts with your classmates Please view and discuss in regard to

Barnett et al.
(2011) focuses on family violence research and the different theories used to
explain why family violence occurs. Practice and policy issues associated with
family violence are broached as well. According to your understanding of the
theories, first explain the difference between macro and micro theories. Next,
select a particular theory (i.e.
learning theories) and apply it to a client. How does your particular
theory explain the cause of family violence, in relation to your client.
Finally, consider the idea of vicarious trauma when responding as I am
interested in learning your experiences when listening to and treating abuse
victims. Reference: Barnett, O.W.,
