A school uses their school psychologist to assess students
in order to identify learning and behavioral challenges that could affect their
academic progress.There are two different types of assessment use and they
include; psycho- educational and clinical assessment.Psycho-educational
assessment is a method used to evaluate a student's academic performance and
how they handle things emotionaly. The tests are standard and the results help
to identify a student's strengths and weaknesses which in turn is used determines
how to plan effectively . Clinical assessment,however, is used to identify possible mental health
disorders and how bad the symptoms are.
They assessments are normally conducted by mental health professionals, like psychologists.
They involve a number of methods, such as engaging with the students like asking questions, observing them and self-report measures.
