Discussion
2 a qualitative research question will be provided. Your task will be to
compare the different qualitative research designs covered in this week’s
required readings, choose one of these designs that will be appropriate for the
provided research question, plan details of how you would carry out the study,
discuss how you would use reflexivity in planning and conducting the study, and
discuss ethical considerations. For Discussion 2, design a qualitative research
study based on this research question: “What is the lived experience of
homeless young adults in rural areas in the United States? In your initial
post, consider the following guidelines:
* Compare the characteristics and appropriate
uses of the qualitative research designs covered in the week’s required
readings.
* Apply the scientific method
by selecting an appropriate qualitative research design and methods that
align with the provided research question. *
Create a feasible research design including
plans for the sample selection, data collection, and data analysis.
* Explain how you would use reflexivity while
planning and carrying out the research.
* Apply ethical principles by explaining how
this type of qualitative research design may affect the
participants in your study and how you will deal with ethical and sociocultural
issues. American Psychological Association. (2017, March). Ethical principles

The
appropriate research design concerning the research question is ethnography.
This research design allows researchers to study the experiences of homeless
young adults within their cultural context hence examining the social and
economic factors that contribute to their lives in rural areas in the U.S.
Ethnography enhances researchers in selecting a specific group of homeless
young adults in the U.S. population to research, and to encourage this
selection sampling method will be used, which enhances selection by focusing on
diversity in terms of age, gender, ethnicity, race, and the duration of
homelessness.
