Dealing with the grief of losing a child

Losing a child is tragic, and the parents frequently have prolonged and profound grieving emotions. Because these parents are also susceptible to acquiring psychiatric problems, more knowledge about how they deal with grief will enhance the strategies developed to help them (Pohlkamp et al., 2020). Thus, in my final presentation, I will elaborate on the subjective views of bereaved parents to gain more insight into what facilitates and complicates their grieving process after losing a child. The role of a social network, having remaining children, professional counseling, and connecting to memories of their late child will be explored (Pohlkamp et al., 2020). The insight gained will inform the development of bereavement support services by healthcare professionals. Given the importance of social media, exploring its role in the maternal grieving process is vital.
